Imagine a life filled with fullness and joy. A Life where you know what to do in every situation. What would that life look like? You want, and deserve, a life like that. One that gives you richness, happiness, and purpose. God’s Word is the Key.
You can always handle what’s Coming
This kind of life comes when you read, and intentionally “live in” God’s Word. You have faith that comes through the peace of knowing that you have everything you need in Jesus Christ, who strengthens you.
Whatever comes your way isn’t a surprise, because you’ve taken the time to plan ahead and think about possible situations that may arise. You can see things coming and live intentionally and think ahead. You aren’t called to live a reactionary life, but an intentional life.
Intentional living points you toward the path in God’s Word that He has set out before you.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path,”
Psalm 119:105
God’s Word is a roadmap for our lives. It’s cyclical: intentional living points us to His Word for our daily direction, and His Word shows us the path to take. Practiced daily, intentional living can change your life.
Every day, spend some time meditating, or concentrating thoughts, on three distinct areas:
1. What the Scriptures say about you
2. The dreams God has given you
3. The goals you have set to reach your dreams
How to Meditate on God’s Word
If you are focusing on God’s Word to guide your intentional living, it’s important that you understand who you are in Him. The best way to do so is to study what the Scriptures say about you and your relationship to God, to the world, and to yourself. God’s Word instills life and hope. It reminds us that we’ve been “fearfully and wonderfully made” and that God had a plan for our lives since before we were born. Intentional living directs us to find that plan and walk in it every day.
One of the ways we discover that is to think about the dreams God has given us. Have you felt, deep in your heart, that you were being drawn to something? A cause, calling, or a work of compassion? God has given all of us dreams; once you’ve discerned that a thought is for Him, think about the idea and develop goals to reach that dream.
Visualize
Look at your list of goals regularly, and keep them at the front of your mind. These will be the tools that get you from your life now to intentionally living toward the goals God has for your life.
Many successful entrepreneurs have experienced the joy of a successful business, which they can then turn around and pour support into foundations and community support. These business owners and creators aren’t reacting. They are intentionally living. How much more, then, should we, as children of the King, live like that?
