Sometimes life rushes quick, filled with struggles and fire to put out. We forget the parts of life that we enjoy. We forget to enjoy life. Let’s talk about how to stop and remember the things that we love about life.
A Life of Fullness and Joy
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to live a life where you felt filled with joy? Not just happiness, but true joy? When you begin to live intentionally, you’ll start to take God at His word. By taking responsibility for identifying where you are, and who God wants you to be, the journey of intentional living automatically happens.
Your Faith
It won’t happen overnight, and will require more maintenance in the beginning, but as your faith grows, as that unbelief is addressed, you’ll begin to experience peace. You’ll understand and recognize that you have everything you need through Christ and your confession of his Word. If you notice, Jesus never reacted to situations in His life. He was prepared for each possible encounter, and He knew not only what to expect, but how to respond.
Jesus as our Example
Throughout the Bible, we see how Jesus responded. He lived an intentional life. He understood his purpose on
Earth, and was able to follow the path and journey that God had designed for Him. When troubles came His way, when He was criticized, He didn’t react to the situation. He responded intentionally, with measured words. His adversaries accused and attacked, and rather than responding to their words and actions, Jesus stayed calm and responded with the confidence that comes from his Father.
Close your eyes.
Start to look through God’s eyes, to see who He made you to be. Look at how you are, what you are, and who you are.
- I am a child of God. I am loved.
- There is a purpose for my life, and I’ve been set aside to do that purpose since the beginning.
- I have been uniquely gifted to fulfill my purpose.
Once you’ve finished both lists, start to pray. Ask God to show you the next steps. This is a journey. When Paul said that he’d finished the race, he wasn’t talking about a sprint. He was talking about a lifelong marathon — a long distance that requires discipline, confidence, and faith. Each day, pray that God will reveal the steps in your journey that will lead you toward the finish line: finding joy in the journey as your live an intentional life.
